The Athenaeum

PART OF
MELBOURNE
SINCE 1839

Founded in 1839, the Athenaeum is one of Victoria's oldest public institutions. The theatre as we know it today opened in 1924, inside the original Athenaeum Hall.

Today, our Collins Street stages host theatre, comedy, live music and opera in Melbourne's East End Theatre District.
